MAG UK was formed in 1973 to oppose the compulsory helmet law. There was no consultation or evidence that supported this law. The injury rate did not decrease as a result of this restrictive legislation. The fight against the helmet law still goes on today. For more information see the main MAG website.

 MAG is fundamentally a political lobbying organisation to stem the influx of restrictive legislation from the European Parliament. This parliament continues to try and introduce new safety measures without consultation or extensive research into the matter.

 MAG UK is a member of FEMA - Federation of European Motorcyclist's Association, which comprises of many European riders rights organisations.

The Thames Valley Coallition is a coallition of motorcycle clubs and groups in the area.

These are the main aims of the group which were decided at our first meeting on the 4th of december 2001.

• Increase communication between all groups/clubs in the area.
• More Cooperation, i.e if you're stuck for a band for your do someone else within the coallition may be able to help.
• To form a calender of events in the area so we all know what's going on and we can support each others events.
• Compile a list of "Biker friendly" pubs in the area.
• Discount for members to other members events.
• Promotion of each clubs products (T-Shirts, badges etc).
• E-mail list of stolen bikes in the area (hopefully on the day they go missing).
• Discount card for members to get savings at local dealers and bike shops.
• It will be non-political and not affiliated to any organisation.
